The official animated video for “Do It Right” premieres on Valentina Black’s official YouTube channel on Tuesday, November 3 at 7 PM New York time (4 PM in Los Angeles, 1 AM on Wednesday in Italy).
A Noir Comic in Black, White and Red
The video is drawn like an ink comic book: rain-soaked streets, street lamps, venetian-blind shadows and a mysterious man in a fedora who only ever appears as a silhouette. Everything is black and white — except the red: Valentina’s lips, her umbrella, a ringing telephone, a neon hotel sign, a royal flush of hearts and, in the final chorus, her red dress.

Morning and Night
Every scene follows the song: a lipstick message written on a mirror on “Baby you do it right,” a giant clock spinning through “morning and night,” a neon sign flickering on at “turn on the light,” and a red moon rising over the rooftops as the bridge climbs “higher, higher, higher” until everything is “burning like a fire.” The key lyrics flash across the screen in the same scratched red lettering as the title.

Look Closer
A few hidden messages are tucked inside the video — some last only a single frame. Pause at the right moment and see how many you can find.
